  • Test for First Degree programmes in Engg. & Technology (Test 101)

The test comprises of 250 objective type multiple choice questions based on Plus Two syllabus. For more details you can check below details.

Note: Test for First Degree programmes in Engineering and Technology, should have scored a minimum of ten marks for each subject (PCM) of the paper (101) to be eligible to figure in the respective rank list. The Lateral Entry Test for admission to III Semester of the B. Tech course comprises 200 objective type questions.

  • Test for LL.M.(Test 610)

The Test for LL.M. comprises of two parts:

  • Part I–Proficiency in English, Analytical & other abilities and General Knowledge.
  • Part II–Proficiency in the related subjects.
  • Test for M.A.Hindi (Test 301):
  • The Test for M.A. Hindi comprises 150 objective type questions at a level answerable by candidates with Hindi as a second language at degree level. Applicants for M.A. Hindi, irrespective of whether or not they are applicants for any other programme , have to necessarily take the Test 301.
  • Test for Management Programme MBA (Full Time) / (Part Time), MBA (International Business) & M.B.A. (Travel & Tourism)
  • For MBA courses of the University, the admission to the 2015 batch will be based on C-MAT (AICTE)/ MAT (AIMA)/CAT (IIM) score and performance at Group Discussion and Interview conducted by the University. However, they must also submit their applications online to the University within the stipulated time as per the CAT 2015 Notification.
  • Aptitude Test for MCA (Test 501)
  • The aptitude Test for MCA comprises 150 objective type questions designed to test the aptitude and capability of an applicant for pursuing the M.C. Aprogramme.
  • About 50% of the questions will be from Mathematics covering areas of Engineering Mathematics / B.Sc. subsidiary level Mathematics while the remaining questions will be to test the ability of the candidate in logical reasoning based on pictures, geometrical figures, patterns of words, Number Sequence, Set Theory, Logic decoding etc. Applicants for MCA, irrespective of whether or not they are applicants for any other programme, have to necessarily take the (Test 50).
  • Tests for PG Programmes (Tests 601-604, 606-615, 617-618)
  • The Test for PG Programmes (Tests 601–604, 606-615, 617-618) comprises 150 objective type questions designed to assess the proficiency of the applicant at the Graduate level in the test subject chosen by the candidate.
  • Applicants for PG programmes (other than M.A. Hindi) may choose and specify any one of the 16 subjects (listed with Code Numbers 601–604, 606-615, 617-618) relevant to the programme for which the admission is sought for.
  • Test for M.A. Applied Economics (Test 616)
  • The Test for M.A. Applied Economics (Test 616) comprises of 150 objective type questions designed to test the proficiency of the applicant at the Graduate level in Economics.
  • 50 % of the questions will be from Economics.
  • 15% from Simple Mathematics.
  • 15% from Statistics and
  • 20% from (General awareness.)
  • Test in Engineering Science (Test 607)
  • The Test in Engineering Science is for testing the aptitude of an applicant for admission to the interdisciplinary programme. M.Sc. Environmental Technology (Stream 1).
  • Test in Life Science (Test 611)
  • Tests the subject knowledge as well as aptitude of an applicant for admission to the interdisciplinary programmes of M.Sc. Bio technology, M.Sc. Environmental Technology (Stream II), M.Sc. Marine Biology and M.Sc. Biopolymer Sciences. Questions will therefore be from areas in Life Science /Medical Science /Agricultural Science, which a graduate in any of the above branches of study should be able to answer.

  • The Test for 3 year LL.B. Course (Test 619) comprises 150 objective type questions.

CUSAT CAT 2016 Rank List: Candidates are informed that they can know about CUSAT CAT 2016 Rank List from this webpage.   • Rank list for M.Sc Industrial Fisheries is prepared on the combined basis of the CAT score and performance in the Interview.
  • 85 % weightage is for CAT score in preparation of rank list.
  • 15 % weightage is for interview session performance.

Note: Applicants are also informed that for all other programmes the marks secured at the Common Admission Test in the subject that qualifies the candidate for admission to the programme alone will be considered for preparing the Rank list. CUSAT CAT 2016 Rank List for M. Tech., M.Phil and Ph. D programmes

  • Tech. Programmes
  • Applicants for M Tech with requiredscores should apply online for CAT though they need not appear for CAT.
  • Rank lists for M. Tech. programmes are prepared on the basis of the valid GATE Score.
  • When the GATE Scores of two or more candidates are equal, the marks scored at the qualifying examination are reckoned as the tie-breaker. Seats set apart for candidates from different disciplines in interdisciplinary.
  • Tech. programmes will be allotted on the basis of their GATE Scores in the respective disciplines.
  • Candidates without GATE Score will be considered only if sufficient numbers of applicants with valid GATE Score are not available. Candidates without valid GATE score and sponsored candidates will have to appear for a Department Admission Test (DAT) conducted in the Department/School concerned.

CUSAT CAT 2016 Rank List (exceptions for M.Tech courses)

  • Tech Marine Engineering
  • The admission will be based on the Rank list prepared by giving due weightage to qualifying degree marks (50%) , Admission Test conducted by the Department (40%), and number of years of experience after obtaining the degree (weightage is at the rate of 1% per year of experience subject to a maximum of 10%).
  • In the case of Marine Engineers possessing M.E.O Class II Certificate of competency 5% weightage and for those possessing M.E.O. Class I Certificate 10% weightage.
  • Tech in Marine Bio-Technology
  • GATE score is not considered. Selection of candidates is done by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on behalf of Department of Bio-Technology, Government of India through a National Test along with all such examinations conducted by the JNU.
  • D programme
  • For D programme candidates should attend & qualify The Departmental Admission Test (DAT).The final rank list for Ph.D programme will be prepared on the basis of the total score calculated as detailed below.
  • 30% of Marks obtained in the Master’s Degree.
  • 50% of Marks obtained in the written test.
  • 20% of Marks obtained in the interview.
  • Hence 100% complete to make rank list for CUSAT CAT 2016.
