Pass in the Plus Two Examination of the State of Kerala or any other examination accepted as equivalent to it with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects securing a minimum of 50% marks in

Mathematics and 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together.

3 M. Tech

Civil Engineering (Construction Engineering & Management), Chemical Engineering (Process Engineering), Electrical & Electronics Engineering with specialization in Power Electronics, Mechanical Engineering (Production Engineering)

 

 

1.      Shall have passed B.Tech/ B.Sc Engg/BE Degree Examination in the respective branch with a minimum of 50% marks from any University in Kerala or an examination of any other University/Institution accepted by this University as equivalent thereto.

2.      Candidates who have passed BTech/BSc(Engg)/BE Degree examination in allied branches of Engineering /Technology with a minimum of 50% marks may also be considered in the absence of sufficient number of candidates for the course. The suitability of such candidates may be assessed by an admission committee constituted by the Head of the Department/School.

3.      Candidates who have passed sections A and B of the Associate Membership/Graduate Membership Examinations in respective/allied branches conducted by Institution of Engineer’s (India), Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers and Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers with 50% marks are also eligible for admission if they have an Engineering Diploma or a basic degree in Science.

4.      Should have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the concerned field after acquiring qualifying degree. This may be relaxed if sufficient number of candidates with the minimum prescribed experience is not available.

(Civil Engineering with specialization in Geotechnical Engineering)

 

1.      Shall have passed B.Tech/B.E/B.Sc. Engineering Degree Examination in Civil Engineering branch from any University in Kerala or an examination of any other University/Institution accepted by this University as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 60% marks.

2.      Candidates who have passed Sections A&B examinations conducted by the Institution of Engineers (India) AMIE in Civil branch shall be eligible.

3.      A valid GATE Score.

4.      In the absence of GATE qualified candidates non GATE candidates will be considered for admission on the basis of Departmental Admission Test (DAT).

 

MTech Programmes in School of Engineering, Thrikkakara(Full Time self financing

 

5 M. Tech

(Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Thermal Engineering)

 

1.      Shall have passed B.Tech  /B.E/ B.Sc. Engineering Degree Examination in Mechanical branch from any University in Kerala or an examination of any other University /institution accepted by this University as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 60% marks.

2.      Candidates who have passed sections A and B examinations conducted by the Institution of Engineers (India) AMIE in Mechanical branch shall be eligible.

3.      A valid GATE score in Mechanical Engineering.

4.      In the absence of GATE qualified candidates, non-GATE candidates will be considered on the basis of Departmental Admission Test (DAT).

6 M Tech

(Electronics & Communication Engineering with specialization in Wireless Technology)

 

 

1.      Shall have passed B Tech/ BE/BSc Engineering Degrees in Electronics or Electrical and Electronics or Electronics & Communication branch from any University of Kerala or an Examination of any other University/Institution accepted by this University as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 60% marks

2.      A valid GATE Score.

3.      In the absence of GATE qualified candidates non GATE candidates will be considered for admission on the basis of Departmental Admission Test (DAT)

 

MTech Programmes in School of Engineering, Thrikkakara(Full Time self financing)

 

7 M.Tech

(Information Technology with specialization in Software Systems)

 

1.      Shall have passed B.Tech/BE/BSc Engineering Degrees in Information Technology/Computer Science &Engg./Computer Engineering/Biomedical Engg/Electronics & Communication/Electronics/Electrical & Electronics branch from any University of Kerala or an Examination of any other University/ Institution accepted by this University as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 in 10–point scale.

2.      A valid GATE Score (In the absence of GATE qualified candidates non GATE candidates will be considered for admission on the basis of Departmental Admission Test (DAT)).

 

MTech Programmes in School of Engineering, Thrikkakara(Full Time self financing)

 

8 MTech

(Health, Safety and Environment Management).

Note: GATE scholarship is not available at present.

 

 

1.      Shall have passed BTech/BE/BSc Engineering Degree Examination in Chemical/ Civil/ Mechanical/Safety & Fire Engineering branches with aminimum of 60% marks from any University of Kerala or an examination of any other University/ Institution accepted by this University as equivalent thereto.

2.      Candidates who have passed Sections A & B examinations conducted by the Institution of Engineers (India)–AMIE in Chemical /Civil/Mechanical branches or Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers–AMIChE shall also be eligible.

3.      A valid GATE score

4.      In the absence of sufficient number of candidates with GATE score, candidates without GATE score shall also be considered subject to passing the Departmental Admission Test.

 

MTech Programmes in School of Engineering, Thrikkakara(Full Time self financing)

 

9 MTech

(Computer Science and Engineering with specialization in Network Computing) Note: GATE scholarship is not available at present.

 

1.      BTech or equivalent Degree/AMIETE/ AMIE in Computer Science and Engineering/Information Technology/Electronics and Communication Engineering

2.      with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 in 10 point scale from any recognized University in Kerala or any other University/Institution accepted by this University as equivalent thereto.

3.      A valid GATE score.

4.      In the absence of the sufficient number of candidates with GATE score, the candidate without GATE score shall also be considered based on the performance in the Departmental Admission Test (DAT).

 

MTech Programmes in School of Engineering, Thrikkakara(Full Time self-financing)

 

10 B.Tech.

(Marine Engineering (Residential Programme))

 

1.      Pass in the Plus Two Examination of the State of Kerala or any other examinations accepted as equivalent thereto with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English as separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60% marks and minimum 50% for Mathematics alone.

2.      Should have passed English at 10th or 12th Standards with 50% marks.  (Applicable to SC/ST candidates also).

3.      Vocational/Diploma students are not eligible to apply.

4.      Maximum age limit prescribed is 25 years as on 1st September of the year of admission.

5.      Eligibility for admission is based on the directions from the DG shipping.

 

KunjaliMarakkar School of Marine Engineering
11 M.Tech

(Marine Engineering)

 

1.      Shall have passed B.Tech /B.E/B.S degree in Marine Engineering OR B.Tech/B.Sc.(Engg) degree in Mechanical Engineering. Or

2.      B.Tech degree in Naval Architecture & Ship Building with a minimum of 60% marks or an examination of any other University/Institution accepted by this University as equivalent thereto with 60% marks.

3.      Note: Preference will be given to those who have passed M.E.O class IV examination or a minimum of 2 years professional experience in ship building /ship repair yard/ship design office/Indian navy.

 

KunjaliMarakkar School of Marine Engineering
12 M. Sc. Environmental Technology

(Stream 1.Environmental Engineering)

 

1.      Graduate in Chemistry with Physics and Mathematics as subsidiaries or graduate in Engg(Civil/Public Health/ Environmental or Chemical) with 55% marks.

2.      (50% in the case of SC/ST candidates) in optional subjects in the qualifying exam and a valid rank in the CAT, conducted by the University.

 

School of Environmental Studies
13 M. Sc. Environmental Technology

(Stream 2.Environmental Bio technology)

 

1.      Graduate in Life Sciences/ Environmental Science/ Zoology/ Botany/ Microbiology with 55% marks (50% in the case of SC/ST candidates) in optional subjects in the qualifying exam and a valid rank in the CAT, conducted by the University.

 

School of Environmental Studies
14 M.Tech

Marine Bio technology (offered at National Centre for Aquatic Animal Health, Marine Campus) (sponsored by Department of Bio-Technology, Government of India)(No need to register for CAT)

 

1        B.Tech/BE in Chemical Engg., Bio-Chemical Engg., Industrial Biotechnology, Leather Biotechnology, Chemistry/Bio technology, Biomedical Engg., B.Pharm, Chemical Technology. Or

2.      MSc. in Biotechnology, Marine Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Botany/Zoology/Biochemistry, Microbiology/Genetics, Biophysics, Microbial Genetics and Bioinformatics, Marine Biology/Aquatic Biology and Fisheries/Environmental Biotechnology/Mariculture with 60% marks Or equivalent CGPA from any recognized Indian or foreign University.

 

School of Environmental Studies

Eligibility Criteria

  • For all Under Graduate Programmes (except Marine Engineering).
  • The minimum eligibility for SEBC candidates to be considered under reservation quota (belonging to Kerala State) for admission to B. Tech is 45% for Mathematics and 45% for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together in the qualifying examination. Of the total seats for B.Tech.
  • (Self-financing) 50% are State merit, 40% All India Merit and 10% are NRI payment seats.
  • The State merit seats are reserved only for Keralite students.
  • For B.Tech in Naval Architecture and Ship Building, Instrumentation, Polymer Science Engineering, 10% of the seats are earmarked for students on All India basis (All India quota) and the remaining seats for the Keralites.
  • Candidates under SEBC category, whose family income is more than Rs.6,00,000/ are not eligible for State Merit/All India Merit under the respective community quota.
  • Seats reserved under sports quota will come under All India Merit of B.Tech programmes.50% concession in tuition fees will be granted to Physically Challenged candidates admitted against the seats reserved for Physically Challenged and have been approved by the medical board constituted for the purpose by the University and whose annual family income does not exceed Rs. 1.50 lakh.
  • SC/ST candidates are eligible for admission if they have pass marks in the qualifying examination except for B.Tech Marine Engineering.
  • For all regular PG programmes including subsidized PG programmes like, M.C.A, M.B.A (International Business) and 5-year Integrated M.Sc.in Photonics
  • 10% of seats are set apart for students on All India basis and the remaining for Keralites.
  • For P.G. programmes under self-financing sector.
  • 50% of the seats are given for Keralites, 10% for NRIs and the remaining 40% open to all.

Note: A candidate will be considered as a ‘Keralite’ for the limited purpose of eligibility for admission, if

  • His/her father/mother was born in Kerala or they have been a resident of Kerala for a period of 5 years within a period of 12 years or they have undergone their school studies from standards VIII to XII in educational institutions(s) in Kerala or Children of All India Service (AIS) officers (Non-Keralites) allotted to Kerala circle are deemed to be “Keralites.
